Welcome to the Chief Tuskaloosa Chapter, NSDAR!
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a service organization comprised of women who can trace their heritage back to Patriots of the American Revolutionary War and who are dedicated to encouraging historic preservation, education, and patriotism in their communities.
The Chief Tuskaloosa Chapter, NSDAR, was founded in 1901 by 12 women and has grown to nearly 150 members in the years since. We encompass women ages 18 to 100 from Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas.

For over 120 years, our chapter has been passionate about patriotism, education, and historic preservation. Whether we are attending our town's annual reading of the Declaration of Independence, honoring and serving our Veterans, delving into our ancestry, transcribing old documents, giving awards to students, or cleaning up historic cemeteries, we are filled with purpose and enthusiasm.
Read more about our activities on the What We Do page and browse through our Gallery to see us in action. Check to see if your Patriot Ancestor is shared by members in our chapter. Join us for a meeting on the second Friday of each month, September through April. We would love to have you in the Chief Tuskaloosa Chapter, NSDAR!
